Gloria Christian School always supports the potential of students according to their interests and talents. Apart from providing Elective Subjects (MPP), there are also Math Clubs, Science Clubs, and English Clubs. For instance, SD Kristen Gloria 3 has a Science Club to accommodate students who have academic potential in science. The Science Club also prepares students to take part in regional, national, and international science competitions. Prior to this, students were re-selected according to the standards set by the school so that they were ready to face science competitions.
The activities carried out in the Science Club include studying Olympic materials, practicing Olympic questions, and conducting experiments. Students are encouraged to comprehend and analyze the exercises using the theories they have learned from studying the content in depth. In-depth material is provided so that students understand Olympic material outside of the science material at school. In addition to practice questions, students are also invited to conduct experiments to practice critical reasoning and the ability to analyze experimental results. Experimental exercises are also carried out to prepare students for experimental-type Olympiads.
One of the experimental activities in the Science Club is observing capillarity using colored water and tissue. Students analyze, discuss, and make reports regarding the results of capillarity experiments. Through the Science Club, the school hopes to produce scientists who can be a blessing.
